One of the prime benefits of joining St George Scuba Club is the ability to dive with some of Australia's most experienced divers. Safe diving is our highest priority and we ensure that less experienced or newly certified divers are buddied with experienced members. We are always happy to dive with newer divers or those who have not dived for a while. Even if you are straight out of a dive course, you would be most welcome at the Club and its events. A big advantage of diving with a Club is that you soon get to know your fellow divers and are not always buddied up with a different person every dive.
Experienced members also assess conditions at dive sites and are available to give advice and assistance. We believe that the confidence and accelerated skills that new divers acquire when diving with us are advantages that our club is able to offer. Our safety record is excellent. Whilst dives are restricted to certified scuba divers, prospective members including non-divers and their friends are welcome to come along to any of our activities such as nights out, day trips and weekends away.
St George Scuba Club is a founding member of the Scuba Clubs Association of NSW (SCAN). This provides the Club with a voice to Government on diving related matters. Currently SCAN has membership of Waterways' committees, the Marine Parks Advisory Council and the Port Hacking Committee.

As a member of SCAN, we also benefit from events provided by the other Clubs. Some of these include organising joint dive events and trips.
The Club also does six monthly tank tests (less than half retail price) and bulk purchases of dive gear at wholesale prices.
Membership of the Club provides a monthly newsletter and the right to join in Club activities. We sometimes run special dive days where the Club provides the food, for example barbecue dive days. The Club has an annual Christmas Party in conjunction with a dive. At this event, we supply all the food for the members and families. On weekends away, we provide a subsidy of $10 per member which is normally used to provide a free barbecue on one night.
Other benefits include organised weekends away and overseas trips. For these you can expect to pay about 20% less than shop organised weekends away and at least 15% less for overseas trips. We also use members' boats for most Sydney dives which saves money. As well, St George Scuba Club members have access to cheap dive equipment through our specially organised deals.
To join the Club, read the How to Join the Club page which is accessible from the menu at left.
